Research Interests听There are a number of molecules/secondary compounds derived from plants, and bacteria isolated as anticancer and antimicrobial agents. Many of these compounds are thought to have anti-tumor and/or bacterial activity, however, they are lacking experimental evidence to support these concepts. We believe there is a greater possibility of finding biological activity among plants with ethno-medicinal value rather than from plants that are randomly selected. Therefore, based on this rationale the major aims underlying our study are to identify bioactive plants based primarily on their ethnomedicinal usage and rapidly conduct efficient and accurate bioassay screening methods. With respect to anticancer/antibacteria drug screening, for cytotoxicity and cell viability assays would provide sufficient preliminary data to facilitate the identification of such plants.
