Dean's Scholars: A unique opportunity to attend TSU

To encourage high caliber high school students to enroll in the food, agriculture, environment, and other related sciences at Tennessee 福利影院最新网址, the College of Agriculture has initiated a financial assistance program called the Dean鈥檚 Scholars Program. The Dean鈥檚 Scholars assist students with college expenses with a unique research internship/work-aid program for all four years of a student鈥檚 eligibility. This program is highly selective and annually recruits only ten (10) students.

Purpose
The purpose of the Dean鈥檚 Scholars Program is:

1) To develop a cadre of academically talented student scholars in the College of Agriculture, Human and Natural Sciences.

2) To increase the number of students studying Agricultural Sciences 鈥 agribusiness; agricultural leadership, education & communication; animal science/pre-veterinary medicine; biotechnology; environmental sciences; applied geospatial information systems; and Family and Consumer Sciences 鈥 child development and family studies; fashion merchandising & product development; food and nutrition science; food service management; and family and consumer sciences leadership, education & communication.

3) To prepare a select group of undergraduates for graduate/professional school or higher entry employment positions.

The Award
The financial assistance of the Dean鈥檚 Scholars Program is awarded annually. It provides opportunities to gain valuable experience by working with the College鈥檚 senior faculty. Each student will work closely with a senior faculty mentor to assist in and/or conduct research, publish and present the research, and participate in summer internships or externships with local, regional or national research laboratories.
Each annual award renewal is contingent upon the student鈥檚 performance.

General Eligibility
Be a Tennessee Hope Scholarship recipient OR high caliber out-of-state student.
Be admitted to Tennessee 福利影院最新网址 and seeking a degree in Agricultural Sciences or Family and Consumer Sciences.
Eligible to continue in the program by maintaining the Tennessee Hope Scholarship or equivalent GPA.
